Frustrated

I called our placement coordinator on Monday because I am becoming increasingly frustrated with the fact that we still don't have a placement.

She told me that since we have been very specific about the child's age (we requested a 2-3 year old little girl) that it might take a while to receive a placement.  Then she asked where we are located in the county and said that actually she expected that we'd get a placement really soon because there is a need for English speaking families for 3 year old little girls.

Am I being super impatient or is this taking forever?  I have given this to God and He knows how discouraged I am....especially since we have been ready to serve in this way since October. We jumped in so excited and ready to meet this need in our community but didn't expect it to take this long.

Please pray that I would be at peace regardless.  That I would trust God's plan.  I am fully aware that I can't see the whole picture but sitting here idle is driving me crazy.

Alison, this is an amazing thing you and Mark are doing for a child/children who need families to love and care for them! I am completely inspired by your faith and am praying that you receive the much-anticipated call that you have a placement as soon as possible.

Hang in there!

I can understand why you are feeling the way you are. God's timing is never the same as our's right? LOL I hope it happens soon for you though. :)

I feel your pain Alison. We are coming up on the year mark of when we started the adoption process. We've been matched with kids for over six months now, and we're still waiting for the paperwork to start moving.

May the process start moving forward for you soon!

Alison-
I've been meaning to get back to this post. :0) I know that feeling...things vary from state to state and county to county. In my experience though: Things can be political...they are more likely to call families that they KNOW...our county has not been "removing" much in the last couple of months due to budget cuts. They are putting services in place instead.
ULTIMATELY....:0) You know as well as I do...God will place the right child in your home...at the right time.
Hold tight...I know the anticipation you are experiencing...remember...once that child comes...your life will NEVER be the same.
My goal (not always accomplished) is to enjoy each moment of where I am...you will never get it back.
:0) Waiting with you....amber

There is a story about a piece of embroidery. We look up at the bottom of the piece of work that GOD is doing in our life, and of course it is a mass of tangles and strings, just a mess, but when we look at the top of the piece, it is bright, even, beautiful, and special. Your "piece" isn't done.
